Latest reviews of Film Scanner Lite app for iPhone and iPad
Too dark, grainy, out of focus. Does not work.
Cant focus. Colours wrong. Support doesnt reply to e-mails... (Good idea, though...)
This app has some great features for reviewing negatives. The white balance on the lightbox is very helpful but not very robust. I tried using the iPad as the lightbox and my iPhone 4S as the viewer. More or less worked but it does show banding due to refresh rates. My biggest complaint is that when you try to take a picture the app crashes (probably issues with needing to first get permissions to access the camera roll). A few little tweaks and this would be great.
Crashes after I take picture. iPhone 4gs
The main idea of scanning film is retention of quality and resolution. Its almost comical to shoot photography, then use a camera phone to reveal high res photographs. Its a couple steps backwards. However I love the app, simply becuase it allows me to get a decent idea about how my photos turned out immediately outside of the darkroom, before I can take them home to use a film scanner
